What you will learn
Learning Objectives
- Participants will describe the foundational concepts of sensory integration and explain how sensory-based motor disorders influence posture, balance, and motor function.
- Participants will analyze the role of vestibular and proprioceptive processing in postural control and identify how sensory processing challenges contribute to postural instability and motor difficulties.
- Participants will apply evidence-based strategies and therapeutic activities to support postural development, anti-gravity control, and motor coordination in individuals with sensory integration challenges.
This course is eligible for 1.0 contact hours (0.1 CEUs).
Successful Completion of Course:
The following criteria will determine satisfactory completion of the course:
- Attendance to the entire length of the course is evidenced by database logs. No partial credit will be awarded.
- Successful completion of post-course quiz on learning objectives with at least 80% of answers correct.
- Completion of post-course survey

Instructor Bio
Dr. Piller is the owner and director of Piller Child Development, an outpatient pediatric therapy company with three locations in the greater Phoenix area. She has advanced training in sensory integration and also specializes in feeding therapy. She received her masters in occupational therapy from Temple University and her PhD in occupational therapy from Texas Woman’s University. She has her board certification in pediatrics from the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) and is also a fellow of AOTA.
